Bee Boards

November 1, 2009

Not works in themselves, more of a guide, these occasional Bee Boards are made slowly. The board is placed above my desk and as and when I feel like it I name the bees; if, and only, I feel the name fits. Once the board is completed a new board is printed off with new bees to be named; nothing really happens to the old board: it gets stored. This transcendental process is a micro version of my current way of composing longer pieces both in terms of using names (I use a lot at the moment) and in terms of all other words and syntax. The practice, very much a practice, is derived from an end-point of a painting I once saw by David Lynch.
